INVISTA to collaborate with CPI to develop gas-based, bio-derived process technology

Wichita, Kan., UNITED STATE, and Wilton, Redcar, Uk (PRWEB UK) 10 December 2013

INVISTA and The Centre for Procedure Technology(CPI) announce a collaboration for the development of new technologies to make it possible for gas-fermentation-based procedures for the production of commercial chemicals. . The collaboration will leverage INVISTAs abilities in biotechnology and catalysis, and understanding of the chemicals market, together with CPIs used understanding in science and engineering and capabilities in new process/product development and scale-up for the development of new gas-fermentation-based routes to industrial chemicals.

. INVISTA believes biotechnology has the possible to considerably enhance the expense and availability of a number of chemicals and basic materials that are used to produce its current items, stated Warren Primeaux, head of state of INVISTA Intermediates. We see gas fermentation as a vital allowing technology that will permit the use of potentially advantaged gas feedstocks such as waste commercial gases. CPIs outstanding capabilities and facilities are additive to our own, and we are delighted to announce this exciting collaboration.

. Nigel Perry, Chief Executive Officer of CPI stated, Following the current and substantial advances in the field of Synthetic Biology, CPI thinks that gas fermentation technology holds excellent guarantee to open the economic manufacturing of commodity items. We are anticipating teaming up on this venture which will leverage the synergy between the leading positions of INVISTA and CPI.

. About CPI

. The Centre for Procedure Innovation is a UK-based technology development center and part of the High Value Production Catapult. We use applied knowledge in science and engineering incorporated with cutting-edge development facilities to enable our clients to develop, prove, prototype and scale up the next generation of products and procedures.

. Our open innovation version makes it possible for clients to establish products and prove processes with very little danger. We supply possessions and expertise so our customers can show the process prior to investing substantial amounts of cash in capital equipment and training. New products and processes can be revealed to be feasible; on paper, in the laboratory and in the plant prior to being produced at a commercial scale.

. By using our proven properties and competence business can take their products and procedures to market much faster. There is no down time in production as all the process development is completed offsite and our technology transfer and engineering teams can help business to move the item or process into complete scale production at speed.
